Team building activities in Singapore: an honest guide.
Every office has one person who gets handed the same task each year: plan something the team will actually enjoy. This guide is for that person. What works, what flops, and how to book the good stuff without drowning in logistics.

Here is the short version. The team building activities that work in Singapore offices share three things: a shared task that is not work, a low skill floor so nobody feels stupid, and something to show for it afterwards. Art jamming, candle making, golf clinics, captain's ball and personality workshops all pass that test. Trust falls and lecture-style "bonding" do not.
The longer version is worth five minutes, because the difference between a team day people dread and one they talk about for months is almost never budget. It is fit.
What actually makes an activity work
We have organised team days for banks, engineering firms, agencies and public-sector teams. The pattern is consistent.
- A shared task beats a shared meal. Dinner is pleasant. But people sit next to the colleagues they already know. An activity mixes the room for you.
- The skill floor matters more than the ceiling. If the least sporty or least artistic person in the room can join in within five minutes, the day works. If they spend it watching, it does not.
- Something to take home locks in the memory. A painted canvas, a candle, a team photo with everyone in it. Months later, that object is still on someone's desk doing quiet work for you.
The activities, by the vibe you want
Creative and hands-on
3D art jamming is the one we get asked about most. Everyone paints a 3D-printed figure that lifts off the canvas, and nobody needs to have held a brush since primary school. Candle making runs on the same logic and suits smaller groups; we ran one as a Women's Day session in May 2023 and the photos still circulate in that office.
Active and outdoors
An intro golf clinic with PGA coaches gives beginners real contact with the ball inside an hour, which is exactly the point: golf sounds intimidating and turns out not to be. For bigger groups, captain's ball remains undefeated. We sponsored a corporate captain's ball day for Certis and the competitive streak that came out of the finance team surprised everyone, including the finance team.
Calmer, but sticky
An Enneagram workshop sounds like a personality quiz and lands like a team operating manual. It is the session people quote in meetings months later. Wellbeing options like office fitness classes or a health screening day work well as a recurring rhythm rather than a one-off.
Planning it: the part everyone underestimates
The activity is maybe a third of the work. The rest is dates, headcount confirmations, dietary needs, the wet-weather plan, and chasing the one department that never replies. Two ways to handle that. Do it yourself with the checklist below, or hand the whole thing to an organiser and just approve the plan. That second option is literally what we do, and for many formats the session can be fully sponsored, so the main thing you spend is one email.
What it costs
We do not publish rate cards, because the honest answer is that it depends on format, headcount and venue, and because many of our sessions run fully sponsored or semi-sponsored for the company. Tell us the team size and the vibe, and you get back a clear proposal with the real number before anything is booked. No obligation attached.
Common questions
Creative sessions lead: 3D art jamming and candle making get booked the most, because anyone can join in and everyone takes something home. Golf clinics and captain's ball lead for active groups, and Enneagram personality workshops for teams that want something calmer with long-lasting effect.
Four to six weeks is comfortable for most formats. Popular months (June, November, December) fill earlier, so lock a date first and settle details after. A good organiser can move faster if you need to.
Often, yes. Thrive at Work runs a sponsorship model: many sessions are fully sponsored or semi-sponsored, and attendees may opt in afterwards, entirely their own choice, to an optional wellbeing chat with Wee Xin Min. Companies that prefer no follow-up at all simply pay the standard rate.
Skip the logistics. Keep the credit.
